ReviewsWhen I went to Key West, I knew I'd be surrounded by a tropical paradise and by ocean beaches. The Florida Keys has many hotels resting on beach front property. I have nothing against the beach, but I wanted to stay in town. I also wanted to enjoy some of the local night life. Eden House is located in old town which allowed me to go to the beach when I wanted to, and I did not want to have to travel far to get to the local stores and nightclubs.
I enjoyed the look of the art-deco building, but I found that parking near the hotel itself was difficult. Although I did not want to spend more money, I paid the additional fee for guest parking and found it much easier to get around Key West. There's a lot of spots available and will do for your stay as long as you know what to look for. I was told this by the lady at the front desk. If there's no sign and the spot doesn't have "residential" painted on the street, you can park there the entire stay. After hearing that, I noticed the parking for the residents is clearly marked. If you go down a few side streets, you'll eventually find something. The rooms overlooked the pool, but if you want an island view you can simply go for a walk or take the tour. The ocean views for sunset or any time of the day from Mallory Square are spectacular.
The most useful service the hotel offered was its tourist assistance. The staff helped me locate attractions and find out what the bus schedules were. They even helped me find a few places that might be of interest that are not tourist attractions. I did not eat at the Eden House restaurant during my stay, but it had good quality hearty food available.
